nontroversy[edit]

Hi there. I thought that it was a debate stirred up by the news media that wasn't really controversial (because virtually everyone has the same views on the matter). SemperBlotto 17:45, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

The majority of the time this word is used it refers to things that rational people don't think are controversial, but a vocal group manages to get news/blog coverage for. e.g. Vaccines cause autism, schools should teach that the earth is 6,000 years old, ObamaCare has death panels, etc.

Additional quotes.

Just a quick note about that whole silly missile/contrail non-troversy that popped up last week: the website Contrail Science has a pretty good and quite lengthy writeup of the affair, .

Pamela Geller—the conservative blogger who brought us the "Ground Zero Mosque" nontroversy and aspires to become the next Ann Coulter.

This will, I hope, be my last post about astrology for a while. Until and unless, at least, some other nontroversy pops up.
