Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page.

Did you know that Wiktionary can be adapted to fit your style? Go have a look at your personal preference page (nicknamed “PREFS”)! In particular, you can choose the option to show hidden categories, which will be of great help if you are looking for work to do.

Again, welcome!

Codexes[edit]

Hello, for the evidence of the use of the form "codexes", see the page, that is codexes.

Speficially, the page codexes lists the following quotations:

    • Lua error in Module:quote at line 2659: Parameter 1 is required.
    • Lua error in Module:quote at line 2659: Parameter 1 is required.

Whilst I agree personally that the only “correct” plural form of codex is codices, please note that *codexes is clearly sufficiently attested to satisfy our criteria for the inclusion of terms herein. Repeatedly removing (deprecated template usage) codexes from the inflexion line of the entry for (deprecated template usage) codex will probably result in your being banned. If you want to proscribe (deprecated template usage) codexes, then seek authorities that do the same or præsent an argument for why it is {{non-standard}}.  (u):Raifʻhār (t):Doremítzwr﴿ 16:10, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
