(@User:Soap) I noticed your addition of this Cree word to your user page. For reference, the Proto-Algonquian word is *waᐧpikwani (compare Ojibwe waabigwan), in case that helps you in any way. I guess the root might be *wa·p-. 70.172.194.25 02:58, 25 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. Im going to be busy for a while so I didnt really get a chance to pursue this but I should get around to it eventually. Basically I was just skeptical of the etymology of Wapakoneta being "white bones", since bones are already white, and wondered if it might be instead related to this word for flower (which apparently contains the same morpheme, but perhaps in a different sense). —Soap— 12:31, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
