gender ambiguous

[edit]

I understand that gender studies seems to be a passion or a field of expertise of yours. Just be careful that your entries don't become too encyclopedic. Wikipedia would love an editor like you. What is gender ambiguity, other than ambiguity of gender? Ditto sexual abuse, unfortunately there is nothing in the entry right now to justify it. "Abuse of a sexual nature" is about as unhelpful as you can get. Mglovesfun (talk) 11:07, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I also edit Wikipedia :)
Which entries of mine in particular do you think might be becoming too encyclopedic? (So that I can attempt a remedy.)
I think 'gender ambiguity' needs an entry (1) to explain that it's used in medicine to describe a range of chromosomal conditions rather than just appearance, or a condition that's a result of surgery, i.e. a conscious choice on the part of an adult human, and (2) because I think it would probably be a difficult phrase for an English learner to work out the meaning of if they had to look up & understand the two terms separately. I have found some useful citations for it.
Re. 'sexual abuse', my initial reason for creating this was to do with what I see as the nonsensical inclusion of 'sexual abuse' as sense 5 under abuse (I think I got distracted with editing other things simultaneously & stuffed up a little in my explanation; I've just gone back to the 'abuse' entry to clear that up, sorry about that). --TyrS 14:57, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good to me. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:04, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
