Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --EncycloPetey 20:02, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Format[edit]

You can save a little trouble by switching to a template format, like this The {{infl}} template automatically adds the word to the category. Also, please link the translations with square brackets, like [[this]], so that they will link to the translation entry. --EncycloPetey 20:02, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

غين ختل[edit]

Why did you remove the content from this page? Nadando 20:39, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  1. Transliteration did not match and I've not heard this term before; غین is also not in any of the 3 Pashto dictionaries that I have
Being a vulgar term, it may not be in common dictionaries. ختل is a Pashto verb that means to climb, to mount, so you should attempt to see whether there is a slang meaning of غين, aside from the common noun sense. You might go to Wikipedia and try to find a native Pashtun and ask him. —Stephen 21:01, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Formatting[edit]

When you use the {{infl}} template, you should add the term "sc=ps-Arab". This will make it look better. For example: ختل —Stephen 21:06, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Zë yëm Pëkhtoun ;) Just never got a great grip on the language while I was growing up, making up (trying to!) for lost time now!

Can you edit one of the articles with 'sc=ps-Arab' in the right place so I can use that as a template? I don't wanna destroy anything! I updated the article for غین ختل to use the template that the guy above showed me and tweek the transliteration to clearly mark the 'schwa' also. Unidad 21:19, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure- see this diff. Nadando 21:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
