May I ask why you created this template? There already is a suitable template, {{et-decl}}
. —CodeCat 20:41, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- I created it because the declension type templates don't all exist and some (e.g type paks) don't currently work correctly for all nominals of that type. User332572385 (talk) 20:44, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not planning to replace the currently existing templates, simply making it easier to add declensions to words without declension template. User332572385 (talk) 20:46, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- I understand that, but why didn't you create
{{et-decl-ase}}
with{{et-decl}}
as the base, instead of{{et-decl2}}
? It seems to me that adding another template "in between" just makes it more confusing and harder to understand the templates. —CodeCat 20:47, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

- I'm not sure I agree. The source of et-decl-ase points clearly to et-decl2, and the latter has documentation for parameters. But I won't create any more templates for the moment. User332572385 (talk) 20:56, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes that is what I mean.
{{et-decl-ase}}
calls{{et-decl2}}
, which calls{{et-decl}}
, which calls{{et-decl-table}}
. It seems like a lot of intermediate templates. Why not make{{et-decl-ase}}
call{{et-decl}}
directly, like the other templates already do, without the intermediate step? —CodeCat 20:59, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
