Rationale[edit]

No idea. To be provided by the supporters of the proposal, such as the one who did diff. --Dan Polansky (talk) 21:29, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

catlangcode[edit]

"{{catlangcode|nl|Mammals}}" is too long. (even though I created Template:catlangcode in 2010 now I am thinking there could be a better name) It is also basically the same as writing "[[Category:nl:Mammals]]", just a few keystrokes change.

Suggestion:

Use a single template for all the topics, perhaps except the categories that are already being templatized by {{label}}:

{{topics|nl|Category1|Category2|Category3|Category4}}

What do you think? Looks good?

P.S. {{topics}} already exists but it a redirect not used anywhere. --Daniel 15:20, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I like {{topics}} as a name; so much better than {{catlangcode}}. It is maybe even better than {{cat}} since only topical categories are intended to be so covered. --Dan Polansky (talk) 13:45, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I created a simple workable version of {{topics}} and tested it on a single entry, see here for the diff where the template is added to the entry. --Daniel 14:00, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
{{catlangcode}} does exactly the same thing. That's why {{topics}} was a redirect to it. —CodeCat 14:04, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
