Etymology

Developed, in part, by the US Navy's "Project Yehudi" from 1943 onwards. (This etymology is missing or incomplete. Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium. Particularly: “But who/what was Yehudi? Is it an eponym?”)

Noun

1. (rare) Lights placed under aeroplanes that raise their brightness to the same level as that of the sky, as a form of camouflage.
