Etymology

[edit]

The specific epithet asiatica (Asian) is erroneous as the species is not found in Asia; it may have resulted from confusing the West Indies (part of its habitat) and the East Indies (in Asia).

Proper noun

[edit]

Zenaida asiatica f

  1. A taxonomic species within the family Columbidae – white-winged dove.
