From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek ζωή (zōḗ, “life”), a calque of the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Biblical Hebrew name חַוָּה (khavá, “Eve”). It was the name of a third century martyr venerated in the Orthodox Church.
