Afrikaans

Etymology

From Dutch allemaal (all), originally an adverb and still used in a way that might be considered adverbial rather than pronominal. In Afrikaans, the word has developed into an actual pronoun.

Pronoun

almal

  1. all; everyone
Almal het die waarheid geweet, maar niemand het niks gesê nie.
Everybody knew the truth, but nobody said anything.
