Named after the inventor, the industrial chemist Ernst Büchner.

Büchner funnel (plural Büchner funnels)

  1. (chemistry) A piece of laboratory equipment used for filtration; it is a ceramic funnel with a flat base on which the filter paper is laid flat; normally used with a vacuum pump.
