Etymology

Past participle of caure. From Lua error in Module:etymology at line 156: Old Occitan (pro) is not set as an ancestor of Catalan (ca) in Module:languages/data/2. The ancestor of Catalan is Old Catalan (roa-oca)., from a Vulgar Latin root *cadūtu(s) as the past participle of *cadēre, from Latin cadō. Compare Occitan casut, French chu, Italian caduto, Romanian căzut.
