chwedl
Welsh
Etymology
Borrowed from Primitive Irish *skʷetlan (compare Old Irish scél), from Proto-Celtic *skʷetlom. If the Proto-Celtic word had descended directly into Welsh it would have become *ysbedl rather than chwedl.
