coat up (third-person singular simple present coats up, present participle coating up, simple past and past participle coated up)

  1. (transitive) To coat (something) (to cover with a coating of some material).
    We coated up the anodes before the experiment.
  2. (intransitive) To develop a coat (the fur or feathers covering an animal's skin).
    Hopefully she'll coat up before we take her to the dog show.
