Etymology
A classical compound of the Ancient Greek κολεός (koleós, “sheath”) + the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] English -ptile (“leaf”) – the suffix representing the Ancient Greek πτῐ́λον (ptílon) – probably after the French coléoptile.
