Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin cōmoedia, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek κωμῳδία (kōmōidía), from κῶμος (kômos, revel, caurousing) + either ᾠδή (ōidḗ, song) or ἀοιδός (aoidós, singer, bard), both from ἀείδω (aeídō, I sing).
