[edit]From Middle Irish crem (“ramsons”), from Proto-Celtic *kremus or *kramos, from Proto-Indo-European *krém-wōs (“ramsons”). Cognate with Welsh craf, English ramsons, and Ancient Greek κρόμμυον (krómmuon, “onion”).[1]
