From Old Irish cuimnigid (recalls, remembers), equivalent to cuimhne (memory) +‎ -ich.

  • In the sense "to remember/not forget to do something" used with the conjunction gun:
    Cuimhnich gun glas thu an doras.Don't forget to lock the door. (literally "Remember that you lock the door.")
