Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Middle Low German dosich, from Proto-West Germanic *dusīg. Cognate of English dizzy. By surface analysis, dåsa +‎ -ig (-y).

  1. drowsy (in a relaxed manner, for example after lying out in the sun)
