Etymology[edit]

From Ottoman Turkish دولك (dölek), from Proto-Turkic *döle-k (tranquil, sedate, quiet), *töle-k. Cognate with Chuvash тӳлек (tülek), Chagatai [script needed] (tölek). Cognate with also Khorezmian Turkic [script needed] (dölenmek, tranquility, peace).[1] (See Proto-Mongolic *döligen).
