demographize (third-person singular simple present demographizes, present participle demographizing, simple past and past participle demographized)

  1. (transitive) To convert into, or adapt to the needs or norms of, a demographic.
    • 1970, George L. Farmer, The Dilemma of the Italian-American, page 4:
Housing and its demographizing reflect the improving education, income, and "power" of a group. It also reflects the generation gap between third and fourth generation Italian-Americans.
    • 2016, Joost de Bruin, Koos Zwaan, Adapting Idols, page 111:
Generation Y is partly a marketing term and, like Generation X before it, is to some extent a construct that helps advertisers to 'demographize' a particular age group.
