Etymology[edit]

Aorist form of jap. From Proto-Albanian *(e)δaś-, from Proto-Indo-European *deh₃- (to give). A suppletive verb, it occurs only in the non-present paradigm. Dhae and dhe come from Proto-Indo-European *h₁e-dh₃(e)s-s.[1]
