Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Literally: “to have a travelling pea”. Probably from the idea that a pea has moved to some wrong place in one's body (or at least sometimes thus interpreted). Compare also the Princess and the Pea.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): /əˈn‿ɛː.dz‿am ˈʋan.də.ʀə ˈhan/

Verb[edit]

    • 1998, “Mer bruche keiner”‎[1]performed by Bläck Fööss:
Et jitt jo Lück, die iwig schlauer sinn als andere... jo, dat kennt mer jo!
Die Jecke hann doch bluß en Ääz am Wandere... jo, och dat es wohr!
There are those people who're always smarter than the others... yeah, we're familiar with that!
Those crazies, they have really lost it.... yeah, that's true as well!
