Compare with Nupe lukuku, Urhobo inékuku, Edo elikhukhu, Igbo kpalakwukwu, Ebira arekuku, Ifè àlúŋ̀kùkù, Olukumi olékùkù, possibly related to Ibibio ebomon-kuku, a widespread Niger-Congo root, Blench (2003) proposes a reconstruction to Proto-Niger-Congo *-kuku. See proposed Proto-Yoruboid *è-lúkùkù. Probably ultimately Onomatopoeic
