From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *aiska, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *aisk- (bright, shining). Cognate to Lithuanian áiškus (clear, bright), Old Norse eiskra (rage before hot excitement), Old Church Slavonic искра (iskra, spark).
