Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Probably from Ancient Greek φρίκη (phríkē) or more likely Byzantine Greek φρίκη (phríkē), but the presence of the word in Istro-Romanian indicates it was a very old borrowing. Compare Romanian frică, also Albanian frikë.

Noun[edit]

fricã f (plural frits, definite articulation frica)
