From Middle French fringuer, a denominal of Old French fringue (garment, clothing), of non-Latin origin, likely (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "gem" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., possibly from Frankish *hringila (ring, loop), related to Old High German ringila (Modern German Ringel (ringlet, loop)).
