From Middle French fringuer, a denominal of Old French fringue (“garment, clothing”), of non-Latin origin, likely (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "gem" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., possibly from Frankish *hringila (“ring, loop”), related to Old High German ringila (Modern German Ringel (“ringlet, loop”)).
