Cognate with Norwegian Bokmål fungere, Norwegian Nynorsk fungere, fungera, Danish fungere, Dutch fungeren, English function, fungible, Czech fungovat, Slovak fungovať, Italian fungere, Spanish fungir, French fonctionner.
