Sicilian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Ultimately from Latin glaciēs. Likely borrowed from Italian ghiaccio judging by its /t͡tʃ/ (cf. native vrazzu < bracchium) and by the fact that in the 1920's it appears to have been limited to the western edge of the island.[1]
Noun[edit]
ghiacciu m
