Swedish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]höjd (“height”) + rädd (“afraid”)
Adjective
[edit]höjdrädd (not comparable)
Usage notes
[edit]The neuter form höjdrätt might be avoided for the same reason as rätt (see the usage notes for rädd). "Ett höjdrätt barn" (a child who is afraid of heights) could be rewritten as "ett barn med höjdskräck" (a child with a fear of heights).
