Borrowed from Latin inceptus, past participle of incipio.

Verb

incept (third-person singular simple present incepts, present participle incepting, simple past and past participle incepted)

  1. (transitive) To take in or ingest.
  2. (transitive) To begin.
    The company was incepted in 2006.
  3. (UK) To begin a Master of Arts degree at a university.
