Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish استناداً (istināden),[1] from Arabic اِسْتِنَادًا (istinādan) adverbial accusative of اِسْتِنَاد (istinād), verbal noun of اِسْتَنَدَ (istanada, “to lean on, to rely on”).[2]
