Etymology

From earlier *kēsman, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Balto-Slavic *keʔs-, probably from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *k(ʷ)eh₁s-. Cognate with Proto-Slavic *časъ (time).
