From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *kadā, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *(s)ke(n)d. Cognate to Greek σκεδάννυμι (skedánnymi), Sanskrit स्खदते (skhadate, to split).[1]
