kallioimarrekasvi
Finnish
Etymology
kallioimarre (“common polypody”) + kasvi (“plant”); "plant related to common polypody, Polypodium vulgare". Kallioimarre has become the type species for both its genus and the whole taxonomic family probably because it is the only species of polypod ferns that grows naturally in Finland.
Noun
kallioimarrekasvi
- (botany) Any of the various ferns in the taxonomic family Polypodiaceae; in plural (kallioimarrekasvit) also the family.
