Cornish[edit]

Kevelek

Etymology[edit]

From Middle Cornish kyvelak, from Proto-Brythonic *kėfɨlọg, perhaps derived from *kėfɨl (horse) owing to the similarity between the bird's call and the snort of a horse. Cognate with Breton kefeleg and Welsh cyffylog.

Noun[edit]

kevelek m (plural keveloges)

  1. woodcock
