Dialectal; from Proto-Albanian *kūlā, from Proto-Indo-European *kh₂u-l-eh₂ (compare Old Norse haull ‘hernia’, Serbo-Croatian kȉla ‘hernia; outgrowth (on plants)’, Lithuanian dialect kū́la(s) ‘lump, hernia’).
