From knä (knee) +‎ -a. Doublet of knega, which is derived from a dialectal form of the same noun.

knäa (present knäar, preterite knäade, supine knäat, imperative knäa)

  1. to strike (someone) with the knee; to knee

  2. to bend one's knees or move with bent knees (involuntarily, e.g. due to physical exertion)
