Back-formation from variant krife (plural tantum), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *kripsijā, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *ḱripes- (headhair) (compare Latin crinis (mane)).[1] More at krip.
