- Alternatively, purified gDNA from the macroschizont stage could be used, cultivated in vitro in host lymphocytes, resulting in a sample containing a mixture of bovine and parasite DNA. This raises the question of how to reliably quantify the relative abundance of host and parasite gDNA in these samples.
