[edit]From Proto-Hmong *ntshʉᶜ (“elephant”),[1] probably borrowed from Proto-Lolo-Burmese *tsaŋ (“id”), the latter apparently borrowed from Proto-Tai *ɟaːŋꟲ.[2]
