- an r denoting present tense in verbs in Danish, especially when it is lacking or erroneously placed
Usage notes[edit]
In some verbs in the infinitive, typically ending in ⟨-re⟩, the final vowel is pronounced as [ɐ] (usually the same as [ʌ]) and not as [ə], which makes the infinitive and present forms homophonic. This is a source of error among educated native speakers.
