Verb[edit]

réengager

  1. to reengage
  2. to take back up, take up again
  3. to get back into
  4. to put back in
  5. (reflexive) to reenlist (in the army)
  6. to get back (with an ex-lover)

Conjugation[edit]

This is a regular -er verb, but the stem is written réengage- before endings that begin with -a- or -o- (to indicate that the -g- is a "soft" /ʒ/ and not a "hard" /ɡ/). This spelling-change occurs in all verbs in -ger, such as neiger and manger.
