Aromanian[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Uncertain. Compare Latin roseus. Probably from the verb rushunedz, itself from arushest (turn red, blush), from rosh. Other explanations derive it from a Vulgar Latin root *rosinus ("rose-colored"), *russionem or *rosionem. Compare Romanian rușine.

Noun[edit]

rusheni f (plural rushenj, definite articulation rushenia)

  1. shame, sense of decency
