Etymology[edit]

Ultimately from Late Latin salimuria, from Latin sal + muria, likely through an intermediate Greek σαλαμούρα ‎(salamoúra), from Venetian salimora, salamora. It may also be possible that it did derive directly from Latin, especially the variant form sărămură (but not the form salamură).

Noun[edit]

saramură f ‎(plural saramuri)

  1. salt water, brine
