Origin unknown. Perhaps of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 95: Parameter 1 should be a valid language code; the value "gmq" is not valid. See WT:LOL. origin (compare Old Norse skutill (“bolt, harpoon”), Danish skyttel (“shuttle, child's toy”)). Compare also Old English sċytel (“a dart, bolt”). More at shuttle.
