Etymology

Probably from a (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Vulgar Latin root *subtitillicāre (through a later metathesized form *subliticare), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin tītillō. An alternative theory is metathesis from sollicitāre.[1]
