  1. Indicates extent; to the extent that
    The assault was fierce, such that he passed out and remembers nothing further of the attack.
  2. Indicates condition; in a way that means that
    • The regulatory environment is different in each country, such that it is not possible to put together two equities dealing operations on the same platform.

Usage notes

  • “Such that” indicates that the preceding clause or phrase is true to the extent or in the manner that it would bring about what the following clause describes.
