Pronunciation[edit]

Noun[edit]

susaq (plural susat)

  1. (grammar) object
    • Oqaatsinut Tapiliussaq, p. 21
Susaq qallunaatut susumut atappat oqaluut refleksivimik taaneqartarpoq; kalaallisut oqaluut susaqanngitsutut iluseqartarpoq; imminut toquppoq = han dræber sig selv, han begår selvmord; nujaajartippoq = han lader sig klippe (= han bliver klippet).
In Danish, if the object refers back to the subject, it is called reflexive; in Greenlandic, the verb has the intransitive form; he kills himself = han dræber sig selv, han begår selvmord; he gets a haircut = han lader sig klippe (= han bliver klippet).
